Acer japonicum 'Aconitifolium' or full-moon maple is an elegant tree and one of the best maples for autumn leaf colour. This stunning variety is best for adding architectural interest to any garden. The leaves are large, rounded mid-green and turn breathtaking shades of orange and red in autumn.

This slow-growing plant will grow up to 3-4m in height and spread.

Garden Care:

Should be grown in moist but well-drained soil. Leaf colour is best in partial shade but the full sun can be tolerated.

Like all Maples, this one is very easy to maintain. It doesn't require any pruning routine. Remove any dead or damaged branches. The best time to prune is the late autumn or winter when the plant is fully dormant.  

In spring you may add a top dressing of a multi-purpose fertiliser or organic matter around the base of the plant.
