Shin means 'new' and it is a later, improved selection of the well-known beautiful 'Deshojo'. Its foliage spring colour is amazing, flaming scarlet or crimson-scarlet. In the midsummer, the colour turns to a pleasant reddish-green. In the autumn, colours become blends of reds and oranges. 

This variety forms a shrub up to 3 m high and 2 m wide. That makes it an ideal container plant or a perfect bonsai. 

Garden Care:

Should be grown in moist but well-drained soil. 

Like all Maples, this one is very easy to maintain. It doesn't require any pruning routine. Remove any dead or damaged branches. The best time to prune is the late autumn or winter when the plant is fully dormant.  

In spring you may add a top dressing of a multi-purpose fertiliser or organic matter around the base of the plant.
