This upright-growing variety is an outstanding ornamental companion plant for smaller gardens and bonsai and very desirable in the group of Japanese maples with brilliant new growth. The spring foliage is very bright carmine red. 

Doesn't tolerate full sun.

Garden Care:

Should be grown in moist but well-drained soil. Leaf colour is best in partial shade but the full sun can be tolerated.

Like all Maples, this one is very easy to maintain. It doesn't require any pruning routine. Remove any dead or damaged branches. The best time to prune is the late autumn or winter when the plant is fully dormant.
