Acer palmatum 'Corallinum' is a very distinctive cultivar with outstanding deep pink spring foliage. In the summer leaves turn green, some of them may have light tones. The new growth in late summer or early autumn is scarlet. It grows slowly and makes a dense, compact plant.
'Corallinum' reaches around 1.5 m high and spread.
Should be grown in moist but well-drained soil. Leaf colour is best in partial shade but the full sun can be tolerated.
Like all Maples, this one is very easy to maintain. It doesn't require any pruning routine. Remove any dead or damaged branches. The best time to prune is the late autumn or winter when the plant is fully dormant.
In spring you may add a top dressing of a multi-purpose fertiliser or organic matter around the base of the plant.
