Tsuma Gaki is a bushy maple that will only reach 2.5m in 10 years.
Leaves emerge bright yellow with a bold red edge in spring, softening to a lime green in summer. Autumn sees the colours turn to various shades of red. Sometimes known as 'Red Fingernails'.
Being a relatively small tree, it is suitable for container growing or for use in a smaller landscape.
Tsuma Gaki will tolerate sun or partial shade, but benefits from protection from the harsh afternoon sun. Will be happy in most soil types. Looks stunning when mass planted, but also makes a lovely stand alone feature.
Low maintenance. Only prune to remove dead, diseased or crossing branches.
