A small, neat, compact, rounded bush. Its colourful red foliage has a graceful appearance. The seasons see leaves emerge as a soft red, quickly becoming plum red before turning a vivid sunset red in autumn. The medium sized leaves are deeply divided into 5-7 lobes, each lobe radiates outwards and forwards. Very ornamental looking leaves.
A great choice for when space is limited. Reaches only 4ft x 4ft.
Benefits from shelter.
Likes full sun or partial shade.
As with most maples, very little pruning is required. Should this become necessary, only carry it out in the dormant season. Then only remove the dead, diseased or crossing branches.
