A rare variety. The extremely long, narrow lobes provide a unique charm and elegance. It is a slow growing, perfectly miniature tree. Has an upright rounded form. Reaching only 6ft in 10 years. Leaves appear spring green, turning to soft green, before turning orange and yellow in autumn.
Requires moist, well drained soil in partial shade. Avoid drying out in summer as leaves will shrivel.
Its tiny size makes it a great choice for pot growing and small gardens. A perfect specimen to turn into a bonsai.
As with most maples, very little pruning is required. Should this become necessary, remove only the dead, diseased or crossing branches during the dormant season.
Fertilize in spring before the leaves appear.
