A great feature of this popular cultivar is the persistant, deep red colour of the foliage. Unlike other dissectums, Crimson Queen doesn't turn bronze or green in summer. It keeps it's deep red colour throughout the season.
Unusually tolerant of hot sun, although the leaves may lighten in colour to an orange red. Each leaf has 7-9 lobes that are finely dissected, each being deeply divided and notched. The scarlet stems are short.
Reaches 3m x 5m. Low maintenance. If required, fertilize in spring before leaves appear. Prefers moist, fertile, well drained soil. Will tolerate some full sun, but prefers light shade.
Ideal for a small garden, container growing or pond side planting.
An RHS award winning favourite.
