A semi dwarf variety with brilliant red leaves. each small to medium sized leave has five lobes that are almost separated at the leaf base. The leaves extend widely and openly. Each leaf is long and narrow. New foliage appears bright crimson. This intense colour darkens as the leaf matures. Older foliage is a greenish red, the margins remain crimson. Autumn sees a return to a scarlet tone.
Total growth is short and lacy, reaching only 3m in height. This makes it suitable for small gardens or container growing. Easy to grow. Tolerates most soil types. prefers full sun or partial shade.
Beni komachi is not a widely known cultivar and therefore difficult to find.
